Plano Company Shocked By Slow Speed Of Cleanup

A Plano-based company was one of the first to respond to the scene of the Gulf oil spill. Almost 100 days into the disaster, they’re sharing their stories.  When they first signed on to help with the spill they didn’t realize how massive the problem was, and how long it would take to clean up.

Hamilton, Hunter Lead Rangers Over Angels

Josh Hamilton drove in three runs, Tommy Hunter pitched into the seventh inning to remain unbeaten and the Texas Rangers edged the Los Angeles Angels 6-4 on Sunday night.

Combine Cuts Cops Over Budget Concerns

A small North Texas town is facing some big controversy. Saturday evening the Combine city council decided to get rid of almost all of its police officers.  Residents of the town of less than 1,800 that sits on the border between Escorts Dallas and Kaufman County say they feel safe, but after Saturday night’s council meeting, that changed.

Friends Celebrate ‘Storyteller’ Killed In Crash

She was 91-years-old and the pillar of her community, Agnes Liles’ family and friends are remembering a woman who often stole the show.  Liles was killed in a car accident Friday night at the intersection of Center Street and Woods Drive in Arlington.  She was riding with her best friend, who was driving them home from a night out.  Inside… (more…)

KC Teen Opens Fire At East Texas Juvenile Center

A 16-year-old boy from Kansas City has been charged with assault after firing several shots and threatening suicide at an East Texas juvenile detention center early Saturday, police said.

Matt Treanor To DL With Strained Knee Ligament

The Texas Rangers have placed catcher Matt Treanor on the 15-day disabled list with a strained ligament in his right knee. Texas recalled catcher Taylor Teagarden from Double-A Frisco before Saturday night’s game against the Los Angeles Angels to replace Treanor as Bengie Molina’s backup. Rowlett Splitting Difference On Split Sidewalks

Walk outside Diann Glover’s home in Rowlett and it’s hard to miss that the sidewalks are in shambles.  ”You can’t walk.  It’s a step,” explains Glover “They are in horrible condition.”  Some people on Glover’s street say every step in their neighborhood comes with a potential hazard.
